Lightning Detection

The Old Tappan School District is equipped with a lightning detection system located on the roof of Charles DeWolf Middle School. 

When lightning is detected within 10 miles of our campus, an alarm will sound. Like most technology and with the unpredictability of weather, no system is always 100% accurate. If you hear thunder or see lightning, move indoors as quickly as possible. 

If using the outdoor grounds, you may re-occupy the space once the alarm is cleared.
