Project Child Find

Project Child Find is a free public awareness and referral program from the New Jersey Department of Education that helps identify children from birth through age 21 who may need early intervention or special education services. The program ensures children with disabilities are identified early and connected with appropriate supports to promote success in school and beyond.

Key Goals of Project Child Find:

  • Identify and evaluate children who may have potential developmental or educational disabilities.

  • Connect families with personalized services and resources.

  • Ensure access to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) under IDEA.

  • Increase public awareness of early identification and available services.
